The CLK Elementary School opened in the fall of 1997.  It contains 30 classrooms, a library, an art room, a music room, and a large multi-purpose room. There is also space for open activities in every grade level area.   A beautiful playground is available for all students, and serves as a community park as well.

Our elementary school curriculum is fully aligned with the State of Michigan Curricular Framework, with emphasis on language arts, math, science, and social studies. In addition, all students attend art, music, and physical education classes regularly.

Students who need additional support to help them learn have access to outstanding Title I and special education programs.  A full time counselor, along with other support personnel, are available as well.

For parents who require after school care for their children, we offer a latchkey program called the Explorersí Club, which is available every day that school is open.  This program offers a variety of activities, is approved by the State of Michigan, and staffed by a certified caregiver.  Other after school clubs and enrichment programs are available through the Western Upper Peninsula Science Center and Michigan Technological University.

Most importantly, our elementary faculty and staff are well qualified, and committed to offering students the best possible education in a safe and caring environment.
