ANNOUNCEMENTS:

THURSDAY, JANUARY 8, 2009

1.         Anyone interested in joining the Jewelry Making club should meet after school today near the GE office.  Also, the Rowing, Archery, and Cooking clubs will be held after school on Monday.

2.         A reminder to the 6th grade boy’s basketball team that you will play at half-time during tonight’s Varsity game.  Wear your jersey to get into the game for free.

3.         A new session of ACE - Athletic Conditioning and Exercise – is beginning at Aspirus Keweenaw Fitness Center for students in grades 6-12.  The cost for the 9-week session is $55.00, and students are able to work at their own individual fitness level.  For more information, call Katie at the Fitness Center at 337-7000.

4.         Also, Aspirus Keweenaw is sponsoring a rowing challenge for all area kids and adults in individual or team competition.  It will be held on February 7th, from 10 am to 3 p, at the Houghton High School.  Check out the poster on the table across from the office for information.

5.         Gerald LaBonte is asked to stop by the Public Library sometime today.

6.         Happy Birthday wishes today to Nathan Perreault.

WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 7, 2009

1.         Just a reminder that a new session of Great Explorations starts this week.  Today’s clubs are Video Game Programming and Skating.  The Video Game Programming will meet in Mr. Koski’s room 103, and anyone who is interested in skating at the Gipp Arena should meet at the GE office with skates and helmet.  Tomorrow’s clubs will be Jewelry Making and Tutoring, and on Friday there will be a “Fun Friday.”

Welcome Back!  We hope everyone had a happy holiday!

1.         A new session of Great Explorations clubs starts today.  The clubs include:  Snow Shoeing, Archery, Rowing, Skating, Science Projects, Weight-lifting, Video Game Programming, Cooking, Jewelry Making, and Art.  Flyers and sign-up sheets are located across from the office if you are interested in joining.

2.         The following students are asked to stop by the Public Library sometime today:  Nicole Wilson, Amanda Sturos, and Dallas Jackovich.
